Hobs Studio were asked to design and create a memorable and recognisable trophy for the prestigious Property Marketing Awards (PMAs). The Property Marketing Awards are organised each year by the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors in partnership with Estates Gazette. These celebrate the very best in the property marketing industry, from innovation and creative brilliance to campaign effectiveness.

A model of a four-tower building was chosen as the design for the model. An incredibly smooth finish was required and a transparent material was chosen by the client. This would add to the luxurious feel of the award, but also allow the awards to become a centrepiece of the ceremony by utilising the lighting at the event. One additional award, for the Grand Prix winner, would be finished in gloss Gold.

The awards were 3D printed on the Hobs Studio’s SLA machine, the largest in the UK. This equipment uses a laser to fuse layer-upon-layer of transparent resin, until the final shape is achieved, whilst creating a very smooth clear finish. Colin Peacock, PMA Chairman, said "The award has the wow factor and was a huge standout hit with all the recipients on the night. We were delighted to be able to showcase the latest rapid prototyping technology both with the awards themselves and with a working demonstration for our guests on the night.
